Amity Humanity Foundation, in partnership with the Al Jalila Foundation, launched their first Amity Polo Cup at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club on March 16th. The exclusive high-tea event aimed to raise funds for both foundations, providing healthcare for disadvantaged children both locally and globally.
This new addition to Dubai’s polo calendar included some of the region’s most high-profile polo players on the field, including Sheikha Alya Al Maktoum, Sheikha Mosah Al Maktoum, Sheikh Tahnoon bin Khalifa Al Nahyan and Mohammed Al Habtoor, along with four professional Argentinian players. The match that was started by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Bin Dalmook Al Maktoum and Amity Education Group President, Dr. Atul Chauhan saw teams sponsored by RAK Bank and Gulf Islamic Investments fight it out for the coveted cup.
Polo enthusiasts and VIP guests that attended the Amity Polo Cup enjoyed an array of entertainment throughout the day including a commanding performance by the Dubai Police Marching Band, a live saxophonist and a Spanish horse dancing performance.
After a fierce fight, Team RAK Bank took home the final prize and this year’s Amity Polo Cup, with Team Gulf Islamic Investments receiving runners-up awards. Bochinche, Mohammed Al Habtoor’s horse in the 1st chukka was awarded ‘Best Pony’, with the ‘Most Valuable Player’ award going to Sheikha Mosah Al Maktoum.
