Jobs in the renewable energy sector can be found in production and manufacturing plants for equipment, research labs and facilities, distribution channels, and the operation of equipment for the creation of cleaner combustion fuels. There are also various opportunities in traditional marketing and corporate roles within organisations that have a specific focus on renewable energy.
Students will learn how to master a strong technical education that will enable them to assess, and develop a strong skill set as an engineer and technology leader in innovation, solar and alternate energy.
Students will be able to seek employment in various institutions and organisations or become entrepreneurs and researchers.
Students will learn how to become effective communicators, analytical decision-makers, motivational leaders, problem-solvers and more.
Students will learn how to adhere to professional and ethical standards.
Each student will be able to critically evaluate and reflect learning and development throughout their career.
Every graduate will be able to apply and demonstrate knowledge of mathematics, science, and engineering in key topics regarding solar and alternate energy in order to design and fabricate efficient energy systems and interpret and solve general problems in power system engineering.
Students will be able to sketch, formulate, design and conduct experiments to predict, calculate, analyse and evaluate various results.
Each student will be equipped to develop and use modern engineering techniques, skills, and computing tools necessary for solar cells and panels, design and engineering.
Successful students will have the ability to define, recognise, examine and design a system, model, component or a process to meet specific needs, and also have the ability to describe, explain and communicate effectively, whether written, verbal or by visuals.
Each student will be able to function as an individual, a team member or a leader within diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
Students will be able to apply reasoning carefully informed by contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues.
Graduate will have the ability to differentiate and understand professional and ethical responsibilities as an engineer, and demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering of solar and alternate energy and management principles. They will also be able to effectively apply these individually, as a team member and a leader in multidisciplinary environments.
Every student will recognise the need for and be prepared to engage in independent and life-long learning.
Students will understand the impact of professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
Every student will be able to identify, formulate, research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems in order to reach substantiated conclusions.
