Amity Law Journal

Amity Law Journal is bi-annual, with an International Standard Serial publication number (ISSN 2518-3575) from Amity University Dubai. The journal aims to provide, promote and spread awareness about various legal systems and studies from different societies. The journal offers a rich collection of independent research articles and case studies from within the contemporary ‘legal world’. It is an opportunity for all to cater to the needs of the legal fraternity practicing in diverse areas around the globe.

All submitted articles must be original, previously unpublished research results, experimental or theoretical, will be peer-reviewed. Articles submitted to the journal should meet these criteria and must not be under consideration for publications elsewhere. Manuscripts should follow the style of the journal and are subject to review. 

We welcome submissions of your recent research, articles or study of law for our upcoming issues.

Frequency: Bi-Annual

No publication charges or article processing fees are required. All accepted manuscripts will be published free of cost.

We accept original research papers, reviews, case studies and points of views from studies that are related to Law and its associated areas. The Amity Law Journal hopes to provide a forum for researchers, academics and law practitioners to publish innovative scholarly research.

Author Guidelines

Amity Law Journal encourages original research papers and case reviews in all fields relating to law and its applications. All submissions must be original, unpublished, and should follow the guidelines mentioned below. Articles should also not be under consideration for publication elsewhere. It is distinctly understood that all submissions are original work of the author(s) and wherever required, permissions shall be obtained by author(s) from the appropriate authority, before submission. Note that, plagiarism is strictly prohibited and can result in consequences including non-acceptance of submissions from the author for ALJ.

Submissions should be drafted in the following format:

1. Font Type - Calibri.
2. Word limit - 4,000 to 6,000 words
   
3. Font Size - 14 (heading); 12 (sub-heading) 11 (main text); 10 (foot notes and abstract)
   
4. Spacing - single-spacing (main text); 1 inch (foot notes)
   
5. Number less than 100 should be spelt out unless they are a percent (e.g. percent).
   
6. Use of first person must be avoided.
   
7. All pages should be numbered.
   
8. A uniform date format shoud be used (e.g., December 10th, 2016).
   
9. The main text should be divided under different sub-headings. Different sub - headings must be formatted as follows - First heading must be numbered and in the center, Second heading should be left aligned and in bold letters, Third heading should be left aligned and italicized. All manuscripts should include an ‘Introduction’ and ‘Conclusion’.
   
10. Submissions should not exceed the prescribed word limit, exclusive of foot notes

Review and Publication

All submissions undergo an anonymous review by two or more referees. Usually the review process takes about two to three months. The reviewers advise the editorial board regarding the article's merit for publication in the journal. The editor will keep the author informed about the status with regard to acceptance or rejection, directly or through a member of the editorial board or coordinator of the journal. Wherever modification is required in the submission, the same shall also be communicated to the author(s). The author is required to make all modifications suggested by the editor and re-submit the paper within two months. Delayed submissions after modification, shall result in delayed publication of the article in the journal. Authors are advised to submit high resolution pictures, tables and figures in the standard format separately. A high resolution photograph of the author and author profile (not exceeding 100 words) should also be included. In the instance of more than one author, additional profiles and photographs should be provided. The corresponding authors name and contact details (email) should also be indicated.

Authors are advised to submit the articles along with a copyright form duly signed, scanned and attached; authors may download the copyright form here. It is required to obtain written confirmation from authors in order to acquire copyrights for papers published in the journal.
