Amity University Dubai

Amity University Dubai is more than just a tertiary learning institution, it is a place where students grow by making new, exciting discoveries and where they start their journey to become successful professionals. Regular visits from leading industry professionals who frequent classrooms as guest lecturers pave the way for opportunities, and our alumni meet-ups and talks help establish strong networks.

Academics are key at Amity University, but we also believe in a balanced lifestyle where students are given the opportunity to explore talents they may never have uncovered, like becoming a part of the football team or getting scouted for a spot on the Olympic running team.

There is always something new and exciting happening at Amity University Dubai. Our events are a great place to meet interesting like-minded students from different parts of the world and form life-long friendships. Our endless stream of events, hackathons and meet-ups are more than just social activities, they build the Amity University community and pave the way for lifelong opportunities.

Faste Fashion

An annual initiative by the students and faculty of Amity University Dubai’s Fashion Design Department, FASTE 2019 is a fashion show that aims to bring glamour to the forefront of sustainable fashion and textile recycling. The show’s theme ‘Made from waste, with taste’, follows a concept that focuses on reusing old clothing, textiles and waste materials to create eco-friendly collections. The event kicked off with an interactive panel discussion on the popular topic of ‘fast fashion versus sustainable fashion’, moderated by Harper’s Bazaar Arabia’s Digital Editor, Milli Modwood. With a goal to transform textile and non-textile waste into stunning, scalable and commercially viable collections that inspire an audience; students created an impressive selection of innovative and trendy garments that caught everyone’s attention.  45 looks were showcased at the FASTE runway fashion show which was open to design and non-design students from all universities in the UAE.

Amity University Dubai’s undergraduate students embraced Shakespeare’s sublime story of love, jealously and revenge as they enacted the emotional and tragic tale of ‘Othello’ to a live audience that included VIP guests from Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), industry experts, fellow actors, peers and school-going students. Amity Dubai Theatre is a student-driven initiative that aims to reach the region’s educational community and impact students of all ages through theatre, art and creativity.
