Arcab: Revolutionising Commuting with Optimized Bus Fleets
Dubai-based start-up arcab is making waves in the UAE's public transport sector with its mission to connect and optimise bus fleets. Founded by former Amity University Dubai students Bilal Shabandri and Kevin Martin, arcab is driving change by helping bus operators utilise idle fleets efficiently and ensuring safe and punctual commuting experiences for passengers.
An idea, which became a reality in 2019 through Amity University Dubai's Incubation Centre, arcab was established as a solution for operators and corporates to utilise underused buses. Since then, arcab and its founders have achieved remarkable success, including earning a spot in Forbes' 30 Under 30 list.
Currently, it boasts partnerships with over 40 fleet operators and 30 companies, generating seven-figure revenues. The start-up has garnered support from regional and international investors, setting the stage for its next major round of funding to expand operations in both local and international markets.
arcab is a mobility service designed to simplify the daily commute for individuals moving from point A to point B. By offering optimised routes, affordable transit options, and comfortable travel in premium vans, arcab aims to eliminate the need for private transport or crowded public transportation.
Initially starting with a simple bus-pooling app, the co-founders, Bilal and Kevin, steadily transformed arcab into a comprehensive suite of products that cater to the needs of small and large fleet operators. Their vision and determination have empowered operators to run their businesses more efficiently.
arcab puts you in control of your daily commute. Through the user-friendly app, you can vote for your preferred routes, share them with friends, and make them live. This way, you can choose the route and timing that suit you best, ensuring a seamless journey to work. The app also provides features such as real-time van tracking, reminders, achievements for free rides, and even free WiFi.
Amity University Dubai's Incubation Centre has played a crucial role in arcab's growth. By offering mentorship, training programmes, and networking opportunities, the Centre had created a platform necessary for arcab's founders to make a positive impact on the environment through entrepreneurship.
