Happiness Centre
The Happiness and Wellness Centre at Amity University Dubai promotes the nurturing of individual well-being and self-development. We provide platforms to empower our students, parents, staff and members of the community by creating a healthy and confidential environment to support any concerns/issues presented.
We offer support with social, emotional, personal and behavioural problems. Individuals access the centre for issues such as (not limited to)
- Academic Pressure
- Low Self-Esteem
- Stress/Anxiety
- Loneliness
- Relationship /Family Issues
- Bullying
- Negative Behaviors
- Bereavement
Our purpose is to professionally and ethically guide our clients through an interactive process of increasing self-understanding and developing positive behaviours, whilst encouraging critical thinking and healthy decision-making.
We are an inclusive service, providing support to a wide range of students, including those with special education needs and disabilities. We provide support using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy and Group therapy.
The Centre offers a vast range of wellbeing workshops and volunteer opportunities to students and staff. We also run awareness events and bring in key speakers to help with overall wellbeing. The Counselling and Wellness Centre has created links with various community centres around Dubai, raising awareness, fundraising and helping at charity events.
How can you access the counselling service?
You can schedule your initial screening/intake appointment by calling or visiting the counselling centre.
The happiness and wellness centre services are provided free of charge.
During the first session, you will be required to complete an intake form. You will be able to discuss your concerns with a counsellor, based on which the counsellor will determine if additional session would be required.
If your concerns are adequately addressed during the first session no follow-up would be required.
