Amity University Dubai is looking for a Counsellor to join our Counselling & Wellness Centre within the university
Qualification
- Candidates must have Masters in the related field from a recognized university
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Counselling, preferably Student Counselling
- Familiarity with relevant laws and ethical standards in counselling
- Valid Counselling & Safeguarding Certificate or License preferred
- Terminal Degree must be equalized with the Ministry of Education in UAE
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counselling to students on a wide range of issues such as academic, behavioral, emotional, and social concerns
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement support plans for students with special needs
- Assist in the identification and referral of students with behavioral concerns, and provide appropriate resources and support before referring them to a professional clinical psychologists
- Develop and deliver workshops and presentations on topics such as stress management, bullying prevention, and healthy relationships
- Provide crisis intervention support to students and staff when needed. - Maintain records of student progress and interventions
- Keep up-to-date on current research and trends in counselling and education
