Dr. Nitya K. Prasad is a distinguished academician and researcher in psychology, currently serving as a faculty member at Amity University Dubai, UAE. With a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Kerala, she has over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and student counseling. Her current post-doctoral research explores the impact of Digital Mindfulness Apps on well-being and productivity in adults, addressing contemporary psychological challenges related to stress management and mental well-being.
Dr. Nitya's academic journey includes serving as an adjunct faculty member and student counselor at Birla Public School in Doha, Qatar, before joining Amity University in 2018. She has contributed significantly to the field through her published research on topics such as internet addiction, depression, and psychological factors during pregnancy. She has presented papers at national and international conferences, receiving the Best Paper Award at the First National Seminar on the Psychology of Women – Emerging Research and Strategies (POWERS -2013).
In addition to her academic work, Dr. Nitya is a certified 200-hour Yoga Teacher with expertise in Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, and Meditation, integrating holistic wellness into psychological practices. She is also passionate about mentoring students, having guided numerous research projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her areas of interest include stress management techniques, personal and marital counseling, Hatha Yoga, and mindfulness-based interventions.
