Dr. Gupta currently serves as Deputy Proctor and Dean of Amity Business School, Amity University Dubai, where he leverages his extensive academic expertise and industry experience to enhance students’ learning experiences and career outcomes. With nearly two decades of experience in global investment banking and close to a decade in higher education, he brings a strong blend of industry insight, academic leadership, and expertise in finance and management education.

Dr. Gupta has taught a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive education courses in finance at prestigious institutions, including Saïd Business School, University of Oxford; the University of Roehampton, London; and Manipal Business School, Dubai. He has also served as a Teaching Fellow and Visiting Academic at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Greenwich. Prior to joining Amity, he served as Professor and Dean of Manipal Business School, Dubai, where he contributed to academic leadership and institutional development.

Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Gupta held senior leadership positions in investment banking at leading multinational financial institutions, including HSBC in Dubai, Standard Chartered Bank in Bahrain, and Citibank in India. In his most recent corporate role, he served as Managing Director and Head of Corporate Sales, Global Markets MENA, at HSBC, Dubai. In this capacity, he led a team of 45 professionals across 10 countries, overseeing the delivery of tailored risk management solutions to a diverse portfolio of corporate clients.

His areas of expertise and research interests span financial risk management using derivatives, corporate finance, emerging markets, fixed income, and contemporary issues in finance, banking, and investments. He is actively engaged in scholarly research and regularly publishes his work in high-quality academic journals, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in finance and financial management.
