Dr. Sajid Saleem is an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, Architecture, and Interior Design, specialising in Computer Science and Engineering. He has previously served as a faculty member in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Saleem earned his M.S. in Mathematics (Statistics and Data Analysis) and his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, USA. As a Fulbright Fellow and principal candidate for the cultural exchange Fulbright Scholarship, he completed his graduate studies in the United States. During his doctoral studies, he also worked in the Corporate R&D Department at Qualcomm Inc., San Diego. Previously, he worked in the RF Optimization and Planning department of Ericsson.
With more than 11 years of teaching, research, and academic supervision experience at both undergraduate and graduate levels, Dr. Saleem has actively contributed to the ABET and CAA accreditation of computing programs. His academic excellence has been recognised with the President’s Gold Medal (Highest CGPA) and Rector’s Gold Medal (Best Engineering Design), awarded for outstanding performance in his undergraduate degree in Electrical (Computer) Engineering. He has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 MS and PhD students.
He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, and his current research interests include machine learning, data processing, and computer networks.
