Professor Alkhaddar has extensive experience in Water and Environmental Engineering, with special expertise in Wastewater Treatment methods. He graduated from the University of Basra, Iraq as a Civil Engineer and completed his MSc and PhD in Civil Engineering Hydraulics from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK.

He maintained very strong links with the UK Water and Environmental industry to stay involved with any new developments in the aforementioned fields. He has excellent links with Professional bodies especially CIWEM (the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management). He was the President of the Institution in 2015-16. He is also a Fellow and an Honorary Vice President of the Institution. He served as a member of the JBM (Joint Board of Moderators). This is the body that accredits all Civil Engineering Degrees in the UK and all around the world.

As Pro Vice Chancellor of Amity University Dubai, his duties are, to provide strategic leadership and direction for the academic and administrative functions of the university. Overseeing student success initiatives, developing and improving curriculum, ensuring compliance with accreditation bodies, promoting faculty and staff development, managing the university budget, maintaining relationships with stakeholders & be the public face of the University.
