Amity University Dubai’s Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering students from the School of Engineering, Architecture and Interior Design (EAID) recently participated in an exclusive industry training session at the Al Rawahy Est. (Dubai) facility. The hands-on workshop, conducted as part of Fronius International’s CSR initiative, provided students with practical exposure to state-of-the-art robotic welding technologies.
During the visit, students received guided training on programming Fronius robotic welding systems, gaining insight into the precision and efficiency of modern automated manufacturing. They explored advanced GMAW/CMT (Cold Metal Transfer) processes, known for their superior control, minimal spatter, and high-quality welds. The session also introduced participants to the TPS/i 400 intelligent control unit and fully automated HTW (Handling/Welding) sequences, demonstrating the integration of smart systems into industrial automation. The training further included hands-on practice with Pathfinder simulation software, enabling students to visualise welding paths, optimise process parameters, and validate real-world applications in a controlled environment.
Amity University Dubai extends its sincere appreciation to Dr. Jerald Fernandes, Country Manager at Al Rawahy Est. (Dubai), as well as Application Engineers Mr. Basavant and the technical team, for their expert guidance throughout the session. Gratitude is also extended to Fronius International for providing this valuable learning opportunity. Special thanks go to Programme Leader Dr. Vishal Naranje and Dr. Ashok Chopra for coordinating and facilitating the training.
This collaboration highlights Amity University Dubai’s commitment to bridging academia and industry by empowering students with relevant, future-ready technical skills.
