
On March 8th, an inspiring Women’s Day celebration took place, highlighting empowerment and strength through the voices of influential women. The event featured Alisha Moopen- Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare, a trailblazer in healthcare; Mary Kom, the legendary boxer and Olympic medalist; and RJ Pavithra Menon, a voice of change in media.
Organised by the Media Studies Department at Amity University Dubai in collaboration with the Aster Volunteer Group, the event not only brought powerful speeches but also showcased creative student work. Students presented their projects, reflecting themes of empowerment, gender equality, and social change. This allowed the audience to see the fresh perspectives and talents of the next generation, reinforcing the message of collective empowerment.
The speakers shared their personal journeys, discussing the obstacles they've overcome and the importance of perseverance. Their inspiring stories resonated with the audience, fostering an atmosphere of unity and support.
More than just a celebration, the event was a call for continued growth, solidarity, and action. The combination of student contributions and influential voices created a dynamic celebration of strength, showcasing the power of both individual achievement and collective action in advancing equality.
