Studio 201 will give students inputs
in screenwriting, producing, direction and acting. it will also help
students pre-produce all the exercises they are doing in other courses
such as cinematography, editing and sound design. Finally, this course
will help students pre-produce their Semester III project.
FILM232 Visual Editing I
This
course provides the student practical understanding of the concepts and
practice of visual editing. The course will give hand-on instruction in
each area of visual editing to creative visual narrative structure for a
production.
FILM234 Cinematography I
A film making
student needs comprehensive understanding of how technology helps
translate stories into illusion, how reality can be created and
exaggerated with correct camera and sound techniques. This course is
designed for the students to understand and appraise the significance of
light for a composition. The course introduces the students with the
basic elements and handling of video camera and encourages them to
experiment. This will also enhance their skills in accordance to the
industry standards and employability.
FILM233 Sound Design I
Explain
how sound helps translate stories into illusion. Creation of a world
with proper background sound. This course is designed to provide an
insight into recording and sound designing for fiction and non-fiction
films. The importance of sound is made clear to students who have been
formerly introduced to only the image.

self-introduction in a different language to be used in daily life.
Emphasis will be given on the spoken skills.

Studio

FILM243 Fiction Direction
This
course is designed to deliver detailed and in-depth training to UG
students to help them understand Mise-en-Scene – the main tool of a
director. The course offers a series of practical exercises and
assignments that will help them master the art and technique of
directing fiction music videos. Through the choreography of actors,
sets, camera, lighting, editing rhythms and sound design, students will
understand Mise-en-Scene. This is an effort to strengthen their
foundation in fiction filmmaking.
FILM242 Documentary Direction
This
module is designed to familiarize student with the essentials of
documentary filmmaking in accordance with Michael Rabiger’s “Directing
the Documentary”. Student will learn the art of storytelling through
documentary films. The module introduces the student with the filmmaking
process stating from research, conducting interviews, and showcasing
the film at various platforms. Introduction into the documentary realm
and its master works. The course will include two skill development
activity (i.e., producing two documentaries per student). The course
will develop the student’s conceptual skills and ability to write and
direct documentaries.
FILM240 World Cinema II
FILM238 Cinematography II
This
course will enhance the students’ knowledge with advanced techniques of
cinematography practically with an exposure to crucial aspects of
visual production. Cinematography II will provide the students an
insight to latest techniques. This will also enhance their skills in
accordance to the industry standards and employability.
FILM244 Sound Design II
This
course will provide each student with an exposure to crucial aspects of
sound recording, and the basics of audio post-production for the
screen. The course gives an overview to the various dimensions of sound,
sound recording equipment and its artistic use once the recording is
done. Students will be trained to effectively use sound creatively and
in terms of quality and significance for any audio-visual genre. From
the advance stage of evaluating sound recording equipment, the students
will learn sound recording in different conditions and also get familiar
with the process of sound design.
FILM245 Visual Editing II
This
course takes the skill of every student to next level of the Editing
level. The course will give hand-on exposure to learn and create the
visual narrative which not only takes the story forward but does it
effectively and with desired impact.
BS208 Creativity for Team Excellence
To
understand the process of problem solving and creative thinking. To
