ECE301 Electromagnetic Field Theory
This course provides a general introduction to the important physical concepts and mathematical methods used in treating all types of wave phenomena, but stresses electromagnetic signal propagation and issues of central importance in electrical engineering. As a core course in the Electrical Computer and Systems Engineering option of the Engineering Sciences concentration, it provides essential background and basic preparation for more advanced work in device physics, microwave and ultra-fast circuitry, antenna design, optics, optical communication and optoelectronics.

The objectives of this course are to impart knowledge regarding the theory and application of alternating current machines.
ELEC306 Elements of Power Systems
The functioning of a power system depends significantly on efficient and reliable protection schemes and learning the principles of electric fault detection is necessary to minimize damage, repair costs, and human casualties. This course examines the protection of power system scenarios with various protection relays and studies the various types of circuit breakers, the arc quenching phenomena, and the protection overvoltage.
ECE316 Analog & Digital Communication
The purpose of this course is to provide a thorough introduction to analog and digital communication with an in depth study of various modulation techniques and to develop the students’ ability to determine the effects of receiver frequency and phase errors in synchronous modulation systems. It also provides the effect of noise on analog communication.
ECE302 Digital Design Using VHDL
Finite State Machine Design is introduced which is the basis of Digital Design up to the level of processors. VHDL is commonly used as a design-entry language for field-programmable gate arrays and application-specific integrated circuits in electronic design automation of digital circuits. The course aims to enable the student to design Digital Systems, which have FSM as a base and implement their design using VHDL in to FPGAs.
ELEC319 Embedded Design Techniques
The objective of this course is to provide a knowledge of Smart Electronics Systems, with a basic understanding of their programming skills and how to implement them to provide the interfacing with different sensors for the smart and automatics system development. It also covers the fundamentals of Arduino programming, interfacing with hard ware devices like LED, OLED, stepper, servo motors.
ECE311 Digital Signal Processing
The objective of the course in Digital signal processing is to provide the student with significant skills in general as well as advanced theories and methods for analysis, and classification of digital signals. Furthermore, the objective is to give the student a broad knowledge of central issues regarding design, realization of digital signal processing systems consisting of hardware and/or software components. The specialization in signal processing makes it possible to study practical or theoretic fields, ranging from mathematics/signal theory over algorithmic design to development of instruments based on hardware and/or software for real time signals.
ECE303 Microprocessor & Interfacing
This course deals with the systematic study of the Architecture and programming issues of 8086-microprocessor family and interfacing with other peripheral ICs and co-processor. In addition, various 32-bit and 64 bit microprocessors are introduced. The aim of this course is to give the students basic knowledge of the microprocessors needed to develop the systems using it.

It is an introductory course to the fundamentals of digital image processing. It emphasizes general principles of image processing, rather than specific applications. The objectives of this course are for students to learn the fundamental theories and techniques of digital image processing. This will be achieved through the mathematical derivation and treatment of the topics. We expect to cover the following topics: image acquisition and display, color representations, image enhancement and restoration, image compression and representation and description.
SAE416 Rooftop Solar PV Plants and Entrepreneurship
The purpose of this course is to enable the students to learn about the installation of Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system and shape as Rooftop Solar PV Plant Entrepreneur. This course presents market research and cost estimation techniques. Entrepreneurship planning and health and safety practices along with project life cycle management is discussed. Lectures, assignments, and demonstrations will be utilized to deliver the course. Lab sessions will also be held parallel for providing hands on experience in preparing PV project reports.
